Still not smoking ...
I couldn't remember when I actually stopped smoking - but thanks to my last blog update I now know - and remembering it was May 1st from here on out should be cake!!! So, since I stopped May 1st, this Friday will be seven weeks smoke free -- and I'm feeling good about it! ROCK ON!!!!

Better late than never!!!
Okay, so after a few ups and downs - false starts and what nots - I FINALLY feel I'm on my way to being a non-smoker. Yesterday (Friday) was one week being smoke free - with LOTS of help from Chantix. No crazy side-effects either, except for some very vivid, odd dreams. So keep your fingers crossed - I feel good about this though :-) !!!
Because of the wonderful thrill is my attempt to quit smoking, I feel behind on the other things! However, next Friday I plan on trying a week of no soda (hopefully even longer) and I'm gonna grab a book on relaxation in a few minutes on my break.
Upwards on onwards!!!

Chantix - Day 1
OK, so I took my first Chantix quit smokin' pill this morning with a target quit date of next Tuesday.
Nothing exciting to report yet, but I'm hopeful!!!
I'm lookin' forward to the "dealing with stress" part of the Wellness Challenge - seems like perfect timing ;-)

Wellness - Round 3, Part Deux
Just read the article on caffeine. How 'bout that! Other than the small amounts in my green teas and such, I have been trying to avoid caffeine as much as possible. I may have to rethink that - at least in moderation, of course!

Wellness - Round 3; Part 1
So for the first thing, I though it would be, um, "fun" to take the body mass quiz provided (http://www.aolhealth.com/tools/weight-and-health-risks) and I was pleased to see "Healthy weight: Your risk of serious health problems such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes is low." Sweet!
Wellness - Round 2
Howdy!
Ok, so I started this Round with the 8x8 and hope to expand upon it. I generally do drink a lot of water, but I'm also going to try to cut out a lot of other beverages I drink. Less soda and the like. And I've been making sugar-free green and white iced-teas to drink at home, which I have been enjoying more than I thought I would. Next I need to add in some healthy juices!
For a second item, I'm sticking in my own. I've tried to quit smoking numerous times using everything from the gum, patch to the obvious cold turkey/scaling down the amount I smoke. So I went to the doctor recently and Monday I'll be going on - for better or worse - Chantix in yet another attempt to stop smoking. Though I must say, I feel good about this one ...

Wellness - Round 1
Okay, so this is a belated post - however I have been trying to do some stuffs!!!
For round 1, I checked out Eat More, Weigh Less by Dean Ornish which I did glance at. Though I must confess at the same time I checked that out, "Eat this, not that: Supermarket Edition" came in for me which I have been using to plot better grocery lists. I eat a lot of fast food as I'm always runnin' around, and I did find the "Eat this, not that: Fast Food Edition" helped me eat not only healthy fast foods (is that an oxymoron, ok - healthy by comparrison) but also smaller portions, which is nice.
Speaking of smaller portions, I've also been trying to watch my portion sizes, which was a Round 1 goal. Sometimes easier said than done - but I'm tryin'!
So I'm up and running ... sort of ;-)
